FORMER DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE JOINS ARCANUM

The former Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Command and recipient of four Defense Distinguished Service Medals to serve as Senior Advisor
Washington D.C., March 16, 2017 – Arcanum, a strategic global intelligence company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Magellan Investment Holdings, announced today that Admiral Dennis C. Blair, former Director of National Intelligence, will be joining Arcanum effective May 1, 2017. As America’s top spymaster, Admiral Blair oversaw all 16 intelligence agencies, managing a $50 billion budget. Having had a long and distinguished career in the US Military, Admiral Blair held the post of Commander in Chief U.S. Pacific Command (CINCPAC).

Admiral Blair spent 34 years in the Navy, during which he served as Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Command, the largest of the combatant commands. During his service, he served on guided missile destroyers in both the Atlantic and Pacific fleets and commanded the Kitty Hawk Battle Group. Previously, Admiral Blair served as Director of the Joint Staff in the Office of the Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, and held policy positions on the National Security Council staff of Presidents Carter and Reagan. In addition, he was the first Associate Director of Central Intelligence Agency for Military Support.
After retiring from the Navy, Admiral Blair became president and CEO of the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA), a Pentagon-funded research and development center which supports the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and the Intelligence community.
Admiral Blair has served as director of both public and private corporations, including Tyco International, EDO Corporation (now incorporated into L-3 Inc.) and Iridium LLC (now a public corporation).
He currently presides on the boards of Freedom House, the National Bureau of Asian Research, and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations.
Admiral Blair has been awarded four Defense Distinguished Service Medals, three National Intelligence Distinguished Service medals, and has received decorations from the governments of Japan, Thailand, Korea, Australia, the Philippines and Taiwan.
