Andrew Badger

Andrew Badger is the Deputy Director of Analytic Intelligence at Arcanum Global, where he leads business development, business operations, and personnel development for the multi-disciplinary analytic team supporting the company’s diverse clientele. In this key client-facing position, Andrew’s management responsibilities cross all business lines from ensuring client satisfaction to developing actionable intelligence for private sector decision-makers.

Before joining Arcanum, Andrew led business intelligence units in a range of private sector companies including McKinsey & Company and Deutsche Bank, advising senior principals on geopolitical risks in challenging markets around the world. He played an important role in horizon scanning and due diligence, advising senior stakeholders on risks related to emerging technologies and conflict regions, in particular.

Earlier in his career, Andrew worked as an Operations Officer within the U.S. Department of Defense, specializing in human intelligence (HUMINT). He graduated from the CIA’s elite training course, and deployed to Afghanistan, where he managed intelligence collection efforts and provided actionable intelligence to senior military commanders. Over his career, Andrew conducted recruitment operations against targets across the Middle East, Russia, and East Asia and collaborated with Intelligence Community partners on counterproliferation, counternarcotics, and counterterrorism issues.

Andrew holds a Master’s degree in Diplomatic Studies and a Bachelors degree in Government, both from the University of Oxford, where he is also a Research Associate at the Changing Character of War Centre. He earned a secondary Bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University, where he was recognized for his research on information operations during the Iraq War. Andrew is also a recipient of the Sidney D. Drell academic achievement award from the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA).
