Former Singapore Police Chief and President of Interpol Joins Arcanum as Senior Advisor

London, February 14, 2020 – Arcanum, a global Intelligence company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Magellan Investment Holdings, announced today that Boon Hui Khoo, former president of INTERPOL and retired Commissioner of the Singapore Police Force, has joined Arcanum as Senior Advisor to the Chairman, Ron Wahid. In addition to his role at Arcanum, Mr. Khoo will continue to act as Senior Fellow at the Civil Service College in Singapore.

Mr. Khoo has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement and organizational management, having served in a number of leadership roles at both national and international levels, including as President of INTERPOL.

After his retirement from the civil service, Mr. Khoo served as Senior Fellow, and previously as Senior Advisor, to the Ministry of Home Affairs, in 2016 and 2015 respectively. From 2010 to 2014, he was Senior Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs. While in this role, in 2013, he concurrently took on the appointment of Director of the Institute of Leadership and Organization Development at the Civil Service College. 

Mr. Khoo was Commissioner of the Singapore Police Force from 1997 to 2010 and from 2008 to 2012, he was the President of INTERPOL, following his post at the international organization as Vice President for Asia from 2006 to 2008.

Mr. Khoo chairs the Interpol Working Group on Governance and the Milipol Asia-Pacific Conference. He holds advisory and board positions in banking, healthcare, security, cybersecurity and philanthropy. He is the Chairman of the Cybersecurity Advisory Group to the Minister-in-Charge of Cybersecurity, the Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Quality Award Governing Council and also a 

member of the Casino Regulatory Authority’s board, National Cybersecurity R&D Programme International Advisory Panel and the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace. Additionally, he advises Singapore start-ups Sing Home Track and Cognifyx. 

He received a BA from Oxford University and an MA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Additionally, he attended a management program at Wharton, and holds numerous international honors and local awards. For his contribution to the police service, he was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 1992, the Long Service Medal in 1998, and the Meritorious Service Medal in 2003 by The President of Singapore.
